I was blessed enough to attend the bridal shower of two dear couples yesterday. The grooms, Dan and Ryan, are brothers and friends of mine, and the two couples are marrying within a week of each other at the end of this month.
It was the cleverest idea for a shower: books. And they were showered with lots of great books. They'd especially asked for Christian non-fiction, and they got it, along with several other wonderful genres, and a few traditional wedding shower gifts.
Before we started the gifts, the grooms' mother had the couples stand up and talk. They were gorgeous. Not just in looks, though they are both quite attractive couples, but in love. They radiated Christ's love and joy. It was infectious and captivating. My heart danced and celebrated and praised God that I could share this with them, that I can claim them as friends and indeed, even family in Him.
I am so grateful to know them, and all my friends. And I admit there was a shared joy in my heart. Because I know the love they feel, and I feel it for my Ryan, and I hope someday we can exemplify the beauty of love and joy these two blessed couples did yesterday.
