Today I'm participating with the I'm Blessed link-up, where we're encouraged to count our blessings.
I am so blessed that today I woke up to discover that our phone was back and I've gotten to talk to Ryan and get online again. Yay!
I'm also blessed because Dad hooked up a satellite so we have some television as well.
I'm also blessed because of "Slushy". Slushy is what we're calling this cat that has befriended us. We're pretty sure he belongs to the family next door, but he's been hanging out in our yard, loving on us. He's a lovely pointed kitty, maybe himalyan or something, with blue eyes and is either blue or seal mitted. He's got an insatiable appetite for snuggling, and is very playful. We've all enjoyed having him hang around, and as we moved our kitties inside almost two years ago, after our cat Baryon got hit by a car, we're happy to have an outside cat for which we're not responsible. We live in the country, so an outdoor cat means a preemptive strike against vermin that like to get in, especially in a pretty old house like ours (built in the 50s). So all around, we're happy he's decided to adopt us as his second family.
I'm blessed because of all of our other animals too.
I'm blessed because of a rooster! Remember when on Friday I posted about God speaking to me through birds? Well, he must have wanted me to laugh, because on Sunday morning I decided to go on a walk, and happened to see a stray rooster wandering around, which made me laugh. I wanted to help him find his way home, but I didn't because there's enough people with chickens around here that I'm not sure where his home is! I'm pretty sure he was about a quarter mile from home, because there's a house that has about 30 free range chickens (like truly free range, no fence of any kind) but I've never seen one wander this far away. But I also know that the house I found him in front of has chickens. So he's either one of them... or maybe do hens go into heat like cats and dogs? Maybe he's trying to figure out how to get in their henhouse? Haha! Either way, it was amusing.
I'm also blessed because my favorite season is upon me: fall! Yay!!
I'm blessed because I got to hang out with best friend Tabitha yesterday... it was a crazy day, but I'm still blessed. :)
I'm blessed I can lay my burdens on my Lord and leave them there. I'm blessed I was just reminded of that wondrous fact.
I'm blessed I did get my little selah away from technology.
I'm blessed by every single one of you reading this. Thank you!
