Book Review: Angels Are For Real by MacNutt

Have you ever known someone who had an experience with an angel? Judith MacNutt is one of those people. These experiences combined with the encouragement of fellow Christians lead her to write this book. MacNutt collected stories of angelic appearances from others and shares them along with theological and Biblical teachings on angels. I found this book to be spiritually encouraging and though provoking. MacNutt doesn’t proport herself to be an expert, but she has done her research and has more experience than the average Christian in seeing glimpses beyond the veil.

One thing that did concern me was the fact that MacNutt referred to some angels in the Bible that I always understood not as appearances of angels, but as Jesus, such as Daniel 7:9-10 and Revelation 4:2-5. However, this shows MacNutt does frequently refer back to the Bible and doesn't base this book on experiences alone. I say this as a warning for the reader to be discerning, yet with that being said, I have no reservations recommending this book.

I received this book free from Bethany House in exchange for my unbiased review.
