Book Review: As Silver Refined by Arthur

I took me three weeks to read this book because it is one of those meaty books where after a couple of pages you have to set it down while you digest what you just read.

But it is very good.

The tagline to this book is "how to deal with life's disappointments", but it actually goes deeper than that. Kay Arthur tries to address in this book how to deal with disappointment, depression, discouragement, despondency, despair and other "deadly Ds".  She addresses trusting God and learning meekness as a few ways to find peace in His plan. The book is full of encouraging testimonies and challenges to dive into God's Word.

Included in the book is a 13 week Bible Study, which I did not do, but I can see how that would help you dive into the subject matter. I could see myself doing the Bible Study at a later date.

God used the book several times to address issues I was facing that day, so I know that it was in His sovereignty that I read the book when I did. And before I was able to get this review written I already had an opportunity to share this book with someone I believe could benefit from it. Obviously, I would recommend this book.

I received this book for free from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for my unbiased review.
