I had snapped a photo of me after running, but after further I look deranged. So enjoy this tree instead! |
But regardless of the delays, I did it! And while this 9 weeks is taking me more than a year (yea, seriously. Sigh) the point is I am finishing. And the biopsy at least was a delay I couldn't avoid.
Week Seven's workout was as follows: 5 minute warm-up walk, 25 minutes running.
The great part is that I can run for 25 minutes. And while I feel it, I can totally do it. The bad part is that I am excruciatingly slow. I ended up running to an intersection that is about half a mile from my house. I haven't been using that to measure the whole time because it is very hilly to get there. Which was good for me this week because it increased my cardio! But I only made it there and back once, plus a little extra. So probably a mile and a quarter in 25 minutes (I only started heading that way after my warm-up walk.) Not really good since I am supposed to do 3.1 miles in 30 minutes in two weeks. Still, I could never do 25 minutes of running before in my life. Ever. I was always nonathletic.
My mind is starting to try to decide what comes after the C25K, but I am trying to keep it more present. August is the hottest month in South Carolina, and two weeks for me in this process has at times been 2 weeks, and at times been much, much longer.
But by the grace of my beloved God, I will finish.
