I had just finished reading a fantasy novel, and was thinking about the way things worked in the universe of the book, and compared that to how things happen in this physical world around us now, where your eyes are reading this on a screen (or your ears are hearing a computer read this because you're blind). And then I contrasted that to real life--
Whoa. And I broke into a huge grin. Because what I'd been internally calling "real life" was the spiritual reality, the 'unseen', the place of the kingdom. I'd had no idea I'd made spiritual progress to the point where I subconsciously proclaimed that as the "real life"! I was excited. I am excited.
I'm not telling you this to brag, or so you think I'm crazy, either one. I just wanted to share a moment this week that encouraged me. Like that moment you catch a glimpse of a toned muscle after working out and you realize you are making progress. Or when you find yourself explaining something abiout your work/ field of study and it hits you that not that long ago the vernacular you're using was nonsense to you, and hey, you've learned something!
I want to think of the spiritual reality as my "real life." (Just thinking it unconsciosly once doesn't mean I'm there yet, but it's progress.) I want to learn to rely on the "ears to hear and eyes to see" that Jesus opened more than the physical eyes I have (which need glasses) or my physical ears (which I told you about the other day.)
So this is the second "More Than This Monday"... and the first link-up!
