I've been going on my Nook and getting free books. The book Sentence of Marriage was free and I downloaded it. It's by Shayne Parkinson. It takes place in Victorian New Zealand and the writing quality is reminiscent of Anne of Green Gables, but more adult and serious. Normally I stick to free books only, but I didn't even wait two minutes after finishing Sentence of Marriage before buying the next book in the series, Mud and Gold which was a reasonable $2.99. And I didn't even wait two minutes after that to by the next one, Settling the Account for the same price. And, you guessed it, I went right ahead and bought the next one A Second Chance right away!
There's one more, Daisy's War, and I haven't gotten it yet.. because each of these e-books are over 1000 pages (that's e-book pages, which seem to be smaller than regular pages though, but it'd probably be at least 700 pages in print) and I read four of these books... in three days.
Yep.
I devoured them, they are that good.
But real life calls and so I figured I need to wait at least a week to read Daisy's War. And that's the last book out so far, so I also don't really want it to end... and A Second Chance had a satisfactory enough ending I'm not dying to know what happens next... but I'm still eagerly anticipating.
Don't you just love a great book! Have a great day. http://onecreativeprocrastinatinggal.blogspot.com/
