Day 4 of that Writing Prompt Challenge Thing I Started Months Ago... Oh, yeah.... Right?

Day 4: List 5 things you would tell your 16 year-old self if you could.

Hey girl.

1- Your taste in men sucks.

I'd detail all the ways you should run, but I'm not actually able to send this back in time and it'd probably embarrass both you and I to put it out there... or at least me. You were pretty shameless.

2- Seek God. Above all and always. Put Him first. I know you believe in Him, but you also realize you're totally idolizing guys right now, right? Think about it.

3- Life doesn't turn out the way you thought it would. But it's not bad either. You're in for both a more boring and a way more exciting future than you thought... long stretches of boring, broken up by exciting, basically. I think most people's lives are like that though.

Embrace the concept that you're not the one planning your life, let God be in control. Otherwise, you'll go crazy. :)

4- Never forsake art. Always practice it in one form or another: writing, painting, poetry, singing, jewelry making, whatever it is... you have to have a creative outlet. You forget this sometimes, and it's not a good thing to do...

5- Love your parents. They are not so bad. I know you want to get out of that house so bad... and I understand it. In some ways you're right. You need to get out to grow. But be kind to them. They're pretty awesome.
