Convicted of Complaining

One thing that I am guilty of, very often, is complaining. This is especially when dealing with culture
shock and adjustments to all these life changes; I call it "venting."

But it's complaining.

" Let us not test Christ as some of them did and were destroyed by snakes. Nor should we complain as some of them did, and were killed by the destroyer. Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come." - 1 Corinthians 10: 9-11

Now, this doesn't mean we can't be honest about our circumstances with others (though in doing so, we should always remember to honor our spouses/parents and show love to all.) But you know
perfectly well there's a big difference between being matter of fact and genuinely complaining.

Now, I make something understood, we are allowed to complain... to God.

"I cry aloud to the Lord;
I plead aloud to the Lord for mercy.
I pour out my complaint before Him;
I reveal my trouble to Him.
Although my spirit is weak within me,
You know my way." -Psalm 142: 1-3

Now I'm not saying God likes hearing your petty complaints anymore than anyone else, and there are lots of examples were He puts people in their place about things. After all, especially if you are saved, what in the world do you really have to complain about? This life is just a puff of air, after all, and then you get perfect eternity with Jesus. Why? Because Jesus suffered and died for you.

So why are you complaining? (I'm speaking to myself here.)

Still, if you must complain, God wants you to turn to Him. Remember, vengeance is His and He wants you to turn to Him for everything. Remember Able, who still cries out over his murder? God will give you justice. God will provide. God will comfort.

Also remember, God is just. If someone has done evil against you, the punishment for them will be severe... unless they repent and come to the Lord, in which case their punishment, along with yours, has already been paid. Rejoice at your new brother or sister.

" Brothers, do not complain about one another, so that you will not be judged. Look, the judge stands at the door!" -James 5:9

Loving you all and trying to resolve to quit this complaining!!

"Above all, maintain an intense love for each other, since love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God." - 1 Peter 4:8-10
