Remember a while back I was going through the Bible with the Good Morning Girls? Well I kind of
dropped the ball on that one, got behind and kept telling myself I'd get back to it when I had a chance... but I didn't. So the readings were piling up and I wasn't getting to it mainly because I knew how behind I was, you understand?
However, they did a sort of restart for the new year and I decided to just let it go, "forgetting what lies behind" and all that. (And honestly they were studying Genesis and I have literally done in depth study on Genesis multiple times. So if I only skipped one book in their study, that'd be the most logical one to pick.) So now I'm restarting! We're in Exodus, reading chapters 1-5 this week.
So what have I seen this week? I think the thing that touched me most was how God called Moses and the people of Israel. He's a relational God who comes into our lives and chooses people. This same God has chosen me! It's amazing and humbling.
It reminds me of my favorite verse:
"For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!" -Amos 4:13
God is the God who reveals his thoughts to us! How amazing is that?
