Praying for Asia Bibi

I first heard of Asia Bibi years ago from the Voice of the Martyrs and was surprised (and saddened to realize how many years she'd remained imprisoned) when I saw new prayer requests popping up for her a few weeks ago.

Asia Bibi is a Pakistani Christian who was on deathrow for "blasphemy". She has her case heard at the Pakistani Supreme Court this morning and has had her execution suspended. There is hope of acquittal. I just got that update here.

However, she definitely still needs our prayers. The local Muslim clerics from Bibi's community have put out a hit on her and sworn that if she is acquitted she will still die. You can read more about that and about the conditions for Pakistani Christians here.

Please join me in praying for her acquittal, health, safety and that somewhere in the world welcomes her and her family as refugees if she is released.

"Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body." -Hebrews 13:3
